Over thirty years of Specialised Travel.

Dear Visitor,

Now that you are planning to visit ˜English speaking” Europe...please, may I help you?

My family has been involved in the carriage and (to a small extent) travel business since before the end of the 19th century. Then, at the start of the new millenium, the first horseless carriages began to rattle their way over the cobblestone yard of Grandfather Gavin’s coach and cycle works in the West of Ireland.

In those early days Great Uncle George ran the coachworks side of things, my Grandfather - Jim Gavin - looked after the bicycles, and Great Uncle Bob took care of the new-fangled motor cars. When the time came for my father to join the firm (by then rather grandly named Gavin Brothers Motor Engineers) he took off to University instead and became a Civil Engineer, rather than a Motor Engineer!

Dad’s favourite sport was motor racing. My Mother had no interest in this, but she loved travelling, and after spending a year in finishing school in Italy, roamed abroad at the least opportunity. I grew up fascinated by both - motorsport and travel!

In 1964 I came to England, set up my own business, and began to organise tours. Since then I have visited many corners of the world including North and South America, Canada, the Soviet Union, the near and far East, much of Africa, Australia and New Zealand. I have driven on, and been involved in organising, car rallies throughout Europe, overland to Australia twice, across the Sahara Desert three or four times, through South and Central America, and from Peking to Paris!

At first the trips I worked on involved taking people from here to other countries, but gradually I found that the people I met in those other countries were asking my advice about coming here, to Britain and Ireland.

Thus, by the mid ‘80’s I found that the greater part of my business involved handling ground arrangements for incoming visitors to both Britain and Ireland, and so it has stayed to the present day.

So, when thinking of visiting England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales, do please contact me. Whether you just want help in planning your trip, or whether you want a Driver/Guide, or accommodation suggested and/or booked, or just plain old-fashioned friendly advice, I will be happy to help in any way I can.

Each enquiry will be dealt with individually and personally. We welcome letters, faxes, e-mails or telephone calls, and will be only too pleased to advise on every aspect of your travel throughout Britain or Ireland.

Remember my promise: personal service based on good old-fashioned values.
