EXCLUSIVE TAILOR-MADE VACATIONS

This is an area in which we have an outstanding record. Over the past thirty years we have planned countless trips for independent travellers throughout England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and now France and Spain. The French and Spanish trips have only evolved in the last few years, but more of them later.

Imagine the following scenario. You want to visit, say, Scotland, but you are not quite sure of where you should go, what you might like to see, and - probably most important of all - where you should stay. Yes, you have heard of St. Andrews (especially if you’re a golfer), Edinburgh and its castle, Glasgow, Loch Ness and ˜Nessie”, and almost certainly the Highlands. You will probably have heard too of Bonnie Prince Charlie, bagpipes, and the rumour that "it rains all the time"; but how do you put the whole trip together?

Friends who have been there before you may recommend other places to go and things to do, and will undoubtedly tell you that you "must" stay at so-and-so hotel, or castle, or Bed & Breakfast, or Guest House; but will these suit YOU?

Every individual, couple, or family have different like and dislikes, and what may suit one traveller perfectly, may not suit another quite so well, and this is where we come in.

So, the first thing I would suggest is to give me a call, or send a letter, or fax, or e-mail. The following initial chat will cost you nothing, and will (hopefully!) give you an idea of how we can help you put together the trip of a lifetime. The first conversation might go like this - how many days and nights were you thinking of staying in Scotland? Where and what had you thought of visiting and seeing? Would you plan on a getting a rental car and driving yourself, or would you like us to supply the transport, with a Driver/Guide? What type of accommodation would you like (see our ˜Accommodation” section) and in what budget range?

Based on what you tell us, we would then put together a suggested outline and get it back to you, by letter, fax, or e-mail - whichever is easiest for you. You then look at the outline at your leisure, adding your own observations and thoughts before returning it to us.

We will then look at the outline again and add our own new thoughts. For instance, a drive you might think you could easily do in a day, could (in our opinion) be too long for instance, considering the roads and terrain. Or the particular site you wanted to visit might be closed that day (believe me, this happens more often than you might think!). Or the accommodation your friends had recommended might have new owners now and it may have changed, and not for the better. Or the rental car you thought might suit, might not be big enough to carry all your luggage.

The end result of all this consultation back and forth will be a trip that will not exhaust you, and will give you enough time and leisure to enjoy each day, and each experience. We will give you telephone and fax numbers of suggested accommodations which you can book these yourself, or have your Travel Agent do it, or we can do it for you.

Talking of Travel Agents, we work with quite a few in the U.S. and if you like, we can work with your own particular agent who will probably know more about your likes and dislikes then we will.

We will then give you a file containing all the accommodation confirmations and a record of any deposits you might have paid. You will also receive a printed schedule listing for each day, listing sites to visit with opening times, suggested halts, and places to go on your route. A fully marked map, with each day’s route highlighted, will also make finding your way around a lot easier than just figuring it out by yourself.

The cost of all this consultation and planning? Well, each trip is different so it is difficult to give a precise figure, but a telephone call from you will not cost you anything, other than the cost of the call. We can then let you have an idea of our charges once we know how much you would like us to be involved.
